| This event will take place at Lab Grounds (‘s-Gravendijkwal 58B). Lab Grounds is located on the second floor and there is no lift in the building, sorry for the inconvenience.
Along with 19 other cultural organisations and makers, we have joined forces to develop the new culture hub for Rotterdam in the former HBS building. We will celebrate this all weekend long during HBS Fest! Especially for this occasion, legendary Philly poet Ursula Rucker and the renowned guitarist Tim Motzer are coming to Lab Grounds on Saturday 19 October for an exclusive show in the Netherlands.
Poet, singer, songwriter, activist and revolutionary Ma’at Mama: Ursula Rucker is a certified veteran on the global music and poetry scene. Her colourful and refined voice is one of the world’s greatest instruments and she has proved it more than once. After all, she has already performed with Nina Simone and Macy Gray, among others. And on a night at the club, you’re most likely to hear her singing on one of the many House and Dance classics. Together with Tim Motzer, it promises to be a memorable evening at Lab Grounds once more.
On their Begin Anew Tour Europe ‘24, they will bring an exciting sonic mix of different genres, where new work, house music, hip-hop, spoken word, electronica, Ursula’s own songs and tracks from their many collaborations with artists such as 4Hero, The Roots, King Britt, Charles Webster and Numoonlab Orchestra will be featured.
This evening is hosted by DJ Gea Russell.
