The legendary Wild Romance continues to make history: the sweat from the insane Shpritsz tour hasn’t dried yet and the next awesome new album is already on its way! Now the Suburban tour is coming to Grounds with the best songs by Herman Brood and his Wild Romance, topped off with many other top Hitsz and current hits. It will be a great celebration of recognition with all the great memories and emotions.
Anyone who thinks of the Wild Romance initially thinks of the golden era of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Herman Brood and his Wild Romance became rock stars like the Netherlands had never known before, with albums like Shpritsz and Cha Cha and hit songs like Saturday Night, Dope Sucks, Rock & Roll Junkie, Never Be Clever and Still Believe. But now they are back, back from basically never being gone.
True fans understand it immediately. You stood in line at Paradiso, Luxor, Huize Maas or Quasimodo. The band’s black truck was already there. In the distance, you could hear some rumbling. The sound as rock ‘n roll as a Les Paul through a Marshall: a low growling, rumbling American V8. Around the corner, a big, sinister, black, American SUV appeared. A Chevrolet Suburban. And you knew it: the Wild Romance is in the house!
Suburban. A well-chosen name for a well-chosen car, because Herman felt at his best in the dangerous American suburbs, doin‘ nothin’ just hangin’ ’round with the outsiders, the misfits, the creatives, the danger, booze, drugs, the neon lights of the Open All Night, and the best soul music from the jukebox. The Wild Romance now brings that danger back to the stage. We can already hear the legendary Chevy approaching.
